A Love Poem

A Love Poem

(Sun Kiss Style)

i can feel your radiation

and this heat embellishes me.

            i’m bathing in it,

                        i’m playing in it,

warming me from head to feet-

and i love it!

cause it’s your lips that bless me-

so moist, yet so firm

it’s like your rays are baking me-

my insides over easy.

getting over you is never easy.

i pray you’ll never leave me

although you do…

for a few,

breaking hearts and leaving skies blue.

but i still long for those kisses

from those pretty red lips

and we swap poetry because it’s Love

and what do you know

Jill Scott’s “Long Walk” just came on.

a caressing song

            that soothes my insides

like a tall glass of cool nestle Quick.

                                   light or dark chocolate?

tell me again…how do you like it ?

and i’m feeling her words

as i vibe off your verbs

tickling my ears,

            whispering your fears,

stressing revolutionary love is what you feel

                                   for us black strugglers here!

you make me  remember how Lauryn

made Zion feel so near.

my Sun came as a Sister, Friend, Mother.

lover?

sure why not.

you get my insides hot

cause your different like that

making sweat trickle down my back.

will you serve me some sun tea as i

peel lemons with my fingers and teeth?

with Jill’s rhythmic beat

bouncing up my spine,

sun rays dancing in your eyes

and everyday could be my birth-day

as long as you can tell me why…

why this feels sooo damn good

and why…

               even without an answer

                it’s already understood-

that we have eternal bond

that reaches to and beyond the stars

so just know

it’s not a day that i’ll be missing

 only waiting and anticipating

those passionate Love wishes

 those beautiful…

                            Sun Kisses !
